Colour Combinations?
I’m going to a Christmas ball this year and have decided on a cocktail style black corseted dress.
I’m trying to figure out what colour to wear for my bag & shoes.
I was thinking silver or just having simple diamante bits on plain black satin shoes/bag.
Which is the best colour to go with black to break my outfit up a bit?
I would say silver!
something pastel would be very classy- i think a lightish purple would be pretty cool
or a deep teal would be really nice, maybe something with rinestones on it…

It depends on what look you’re going for…
Silver = contemporary/elegant
Purple or royal blue = daring
Red = sexy
Gold = warm/alluring
Pink = cute (a little bit less formal)
Avoid green, orange, brown, and navy or lighter blues and you should be fine. It all depends on what you’re going for – try on different colors and compare to see which one you like best. Good luck & have fun at your party!

And bag, match the shoes!
Patent leather is in, and metallics are in too.
Maybe just do a clutch or a small chain purse.
Any color goes with black, but for some pizaz I would go with a bright color.
(An idea: Do a red lip (in) with a red patent leather clutch and red shoes!)
i would have to see the dress but i would suggest a nice silver with a hint of black in the bag or maybe even the traditional red. probably something in a thin strapped shoe with a small heel

Go for a simple black if you like
but personally I would go for a fluresunt colour , like bright pink or yellow , it makes you stand out to the crowd
