How Much Does A Parent Spend Each On Two Kids For Christmas?

Lets say a parent has two kids. Just out of curiosity, how much do you think they would spend on each for Christmas?

I spend about 100 dollars. Personally, it has nothing to do with my income. I could spend more, I won’t. I think too much emphasis is put on gifts.

This sounds like my parents. When we were little they spent about 3-400 each and now we just get 500$ cash from my dad and my mom buys us stuff (parents are separated)

  • [Midnigh:

Well, every family is different. Some families who are tight on money, might only spend $100-$150 per kid. Financially stable families might spend $300-$400 per kid. My parents spent $1000 on all three of us (not individually, as a whole, so around $333 each)

If they’re under 5, tell ‘em they’ve been too bad for the past year and Santa Claus deleted them from his list.
    Sorry! Better luck next year.
Then use the money you saved to stock in a supply of Jack Daniels for the winter.
Dumb brats won’t know the difference.

My mom said my dad usually spends around $350 each on my sister and me. We don’t ask for anything during the year, and we don’t get random gifts. We pay for our own stuff. We’re definitely not spoiled, but he spoils us on Christmas. He loves it. I think he actually spends more than that, though, cuz we have so many gifts!
I would say about $250 is good.

Well, my parents say that they will spend around £100 from them and £100 from father christmas each on me and my brother, but I know that they have already spent way over £500 on each of us already and we haven’t even written our christmas lists out yet! So by Christmas we will probably have errr £1500 between us of presents!
So yeah, thats pretty much what all the girls at my school get given! hope that this helps

This is kind of a tough question.
My husbands family(he has a younger brother and a younger sister) they spend around 300-400 a kid.
Mine on the other hand would have been more growing up. I couldn’t even really put a number on it.. As the hubby would say, “We were spoiled children.” We got almost everything we wanted.. But that wasn’t any different than year round. I would guess on me and my 2 sisters my parents spent anywhere from 500-700 on each of us if not more.
My cousin(an only child) gets a couple thousand spent on her. I mean this year her main presents are going to be a laptop and a bedroom suite. But of course at age 9 there will be plenty more presents.
It all just depends on how blessed you are with money. And you have to remember money is not everything and presents are not what makes Christmas, Christmas. Although my sisters and I and my cousin had plenty of presents and things we know the meaning of Christmas.

  • Miss Everything:

Well it depends on how much money the parenst can spend. My mom started a Christmas Club account last year and I don’t know how much she has by now but she said we have a $300 allowance each ant that is for 5 kids. I know my step-dad used to give his two kids $500 limit…
It just depends on their age I guess, too, if its like a toddler or 5 yr old then why buy them hundreds of dollars in gifts?

far far too much!! I realize Christmas is a magical time for kids but it has become far too materialistic and commercialized! There is a million times too much pressure on parents to spend a fortune on stupid gifts that kids play with for a day before moving onto playing with the boxes instead! Get them something practical that they will enjoy and benefit from! Books are always good presents and fun educational kits such as chemistry or gardening stuff!
    good luck!!

50 each kids.It depends their age.If you have big kids so much money but little one less money.I spent 7.99 dollars for my 4 years old girl,I bought a fisher price game on black friday and for my 2 oldest girls I spent 150+the games for a Wii.I think that the wii is good because the kids will enjoyed it,it makes them move instead of watching tv or play the PS and the fisher price is educational, she can enjoyed writing on it and my kids collected money to give to kids who cannot afford to have a gift on christmas so they will.
